COLLIERVILLE COMMUNITY JUSTICE
We are a diverse, intergenerational coalition of citizens working to challenge systems of institutional racism in our town. Through community service, discourse, and education, we hope to build an enduring movement for racial and economic justice for all Colliervillians. Rather than “erasing history,” we aim to acknowledge its troubling aspects— and to envision a better, more inclusive history than the one that our town was founded upon.
WHAT WE DO
ADVOCACY
We advocate for the establishment of a Diversity and Inclusion town committee, the removal of the Confederate Monument in the Collierville Town Square, and other meaningful measures to ensure that all Collierville residents feel welcome, represented, and heard in our town.
EDUCATION
We research and amplify Black history in Collierville and strive to uplift it to the same par as White history. Through teach-ins and discourse, we bring awareness to the true history behind Collierville's Confederate monument.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
We host seasonal community drives to collect donations for our neighbors in need. Additionally, we organize mutual aid for Collierville residents facing hardship such as eviction, deportation, and financial insecurity during the Covid-19 pandemic.
